Who we are
Behind Renovating Motherhood is a classic team dynamic: I have the endless imagination, our three girls provide the beautiful chaos, and my husband is the incredibly talented man willing to pick up the power tools and bring my sketches to life. We’re just out here remodeling our house—and our daily routines—one project at a time.
Our Story
Our Athletic Roots: Matt and I both grew up as competitive swimmers, so it’s only fitting that we actually met at a swimming pool at my alma mater, Duquesne University!
The Writing Journey: My dad and I have always shared a love for writing creative poems for our family. During COVID, we decided to channel that creativity into a rhyming children’s book for my oldest daughter, Annalise Rae, who was just a few months old at the time. Publishing Rae’s Lake Day completely sparked my love for writing and ultimately inspired this blog. (And don’t worry, more books are already in the works!)
This Fixer-Upper Life: Fun fact: When Matt and I first met, I actually owned more tools than he did! He has definitely surpassed me now, transforming into the ultimate “Mr. Fix-It”—which is perfect, because this house of ours keeps us plenty busy.
